A Happy List
My little Happy List:
I'm happy to finally be on Summer Break! Yes, teachers love the break as much as, or more than, the kids!
I'm happy to have kicked off the break swimming with my daughter!
I'm happy to see her making progress in swimming and getting more comfortable with it!
I'm happy we indulged in pampering pedicures!!

Father's Day etc.
It has been terribly long since my last post, but it has been a crazy/hectic two weeks. Many end of the school year events and responsibilities later, and several L.A. Kings celebrations later, we arrive at Father's Day weekend! Yay! And now I am out of school for the summer, (most of it)!
First tasks, on the first day off from school, were on Friday: an unfortunate task of getting a new garage door installed, as ours decided to be inoperable quite suddenly! In the meantime there were the (always!) household chores to catch up on, and still are, as I want to do some redecorating this summer, which will include new paint.
Another important task, is to improve Violet's swimming, so she can be safe and more confident. It has been too long since we hit the pool, so I'm afraid we'll have to start with recovering from steps backwards, but tomorrow we'll begin again! This, along with her many dance classes, should help burn the extra "I'm out of school" crazy energy!
As for the "me" part of things, I have plans, too. One is to start a new yoga program and attend at least two days a week, another is on thursday, I start back at the dance studio with adult hip-hop. I'd also like to add Zumba to my schedule and am looking at a couple of places for that. Last, I have summer reading-for-pleasure to do!
I promise to be a better blogger for awhile! I'll be updating all the above, plus my shopping and crafting adventures :-)

Neighborhood Hike
Trying hard to be a healthy family, we're taking advantage of an asset in our neighborhood, just a few houses up, we've got a great hiking trail! So off we set on a little family walk/run.
Played with my camera along the way, enjoying neighbors' landscaping!
Time for trekking up!!
At the top of the steps, we had a great view of our neighborhood!
This is our house. NOT!! In our dreams, maybe! Then again, the three of us would be lost in there! Ours is small enough to hide among the trees, peeking out in the middle right of the second picture.
Waving to the bunnies we kept seeing. At least we didn't see any snakes this time around, just their holes! We don't take advantage of this little treasure of a trail enough, but now that Violet is older, she enjoys it, and can make it without asking to be carried, so we will more often!
This is AFTER the hike! Don't kids EVER get tired????? Wish I could bottle up and sell that energy!! Or at least have it myself!
My final note of the day is this: Facebook, Etsy, and Blogging are all such fun ♥
but don't forget to GET OUTSIDE, too!!!!

Can't Accessorize?
TOTAL flashback.....way back, but I never forgot the "Can't accessorize" moment from Married with Children! A joke my best friend and I carried on with for years. Admittedly, I really can't accessorize....or I just don't put enough into it. I have been working on it though!!
"Well, l come after you...
...so l guess l'll have to wait until the curly tail disappears.
Oh, then of course, after the cries of ''sooie'' die down...
...l'll do my best to follow in your hoofprints."
"Slut."
"Skank."
"Tramp."
"Can't accessorize."
"That hurt."
I'm even starting to enjoy accessories more! Here are some of my current favorites:
I just got this hat the other day and when I wore it, I got tons of compliments! Makes a plain outfit totally fun!!! This was made by Peaches and Brown Sugar Designs !

I don't know who made this necklace; it was a lucky find at Ross!
I love my headband! Got it at Nordstroms.
The sun hat was one of my birthday presents, No skin cancer is wanted around here! But I love the sun!
The rebel part of me likes the Question Everything cuff by Emmevielle
This fun little case holds my IPhone in the front pocket, and has a wallet inside! Great for walks or adventures where I don't want to lug the purse along! And it's cute, too, which never hurts! This is also from Perfect Pair, like the belt (above!)
These dragonflies were my birthday present from hubby! Dragonflies are a fave of mine!
Maybe......just maybe.....I CAN accessorize! How about you?

Is it June 14th yet??
I will admit...I am looking forward to summer break very much!! I hope that doesn't make me Bad Teacher!
It has been a hectic year and I have worked very hard! We started some new things and that, although positive for the students, always means more work! This is what I am ready to focus more on, in a few more weeks:
Sometimes when I am working so hard, I feel like I don't have as much of me left for her as I would like, and time flies by so fast! At least in my line of work I get to have my summer days with my little girlie, and we always make good memories!
Until then, my blog entries may be a bit sparse....working on grades, cum folders, and Open House....all at once....yep, Multi-Tasking!

How I'm dressing these days....
There's been a lot of sun lately, and it's been quite warm, but I'm not on summer break yet, so it's not time for shorts and tanks. Here are some of the things I've been wearing to enjoy the warm season:
The one with the stars, I actually have in blue, but couldn't find a picture of it in blue.
What are you wearing to keep cool in these warm times?
